The Young Women Organization of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrates their 150 years today, May 27, 2020. The organization was first created on May 27, 1870.
The first counselor to the Young Women Organization, Michelle Craig said;
“My dear friends, we are excited to invite you to a special face-to-face broadcast on November 15, where we will celebrate 150 years of the Young Women Organization together”
In celebrating the 150th anniversary, there will be activities to help with the celebration. President Becky Craven, second counselor of the Young Women Organization stated;
“In the months leading to the broadcast, we will be giving you some fun and easy challenges that will help us celebrate together as well as come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.”
The first challenge in preparation for the 150 years celebration is called My 150. Young women are to think of something they can do related to the number 150. Examples given are;
- 150 kind messages to families and friends
- 150 pages of scriptures to read
- 150 treats for your neighbors
- 150 names to take to the temple as a group or class
The presidency has also encouraged young women to make a difference wherever they are. They are to post stories and ideas on social media using the hashtag #Strivetobe and check out what other young women are doing at facettoface.churchofjesuschrist.org.
