The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to donates items worth $1.8million to Uzbekistan in the fight against COVID-19 and Syrdarya flood

Knowing the importance of helping others during this difficult period, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached out to The Republic of Uzbekistan to help them.

The church in partnership with Project Hope, ADRA International, and Globus Relief will be delivering PPEs, medical equipment and supplies, and commodities worth $1.8million. This donation will help with the fight against the virus and the flood.

This donation was brought to light by Javlon Vakhabov, the ambassador representing Uzbekistan in the United States. In showing appreciation to the church, he posted a thank you message on his Twitter handle.

The church re-twitted the ambassador’s post and said, “The prayers of leaders and members of the Church are with the people of Uzbekistan and others in need around the globe.”

The country currently has 2,791 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 13 deaths.
