In a time of need during this COVID-19 pandemic, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached out to the world to donate. These donations are helping with the fight against COVID-19 and also feeding thousands who cannot afford food at this stay at home season.
The church from country to country is donating thousands of item;
Ghana: The church just donated cash worth 15 thousand Dollars and items like food items, infrared thermometers, face masks, hand sanitizers, protective eye shields, and many other items needed in the fight of this pandemic.
In speaking with the media Elder Dube, the first counselor in the West Africa Area presidency said, “We’ve been doing this over the years, so when this opportunity to assist came we just followed what we have been doing all along.“
The mayor of Accra Mohammed Adjei Sowah in showing appreciation said, “The state does not have resources to take care of everyone and in that regards we are relying on other people to also come and support us and that is why we really appreciate the gesture from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.“
Zimbabwe: In Zimbabwe, the church has donated items such as consignment of hand sanitizers, gloves, medical gowns, and face masks, which was mobilized through Angel of Hope Foundation.
The president of Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa said that some of the donated items such as the face masks have been distributed to Zimbabwe Republic Police to enhance safety while at work.
He further stated, “This is a donation from a church group mobilized through Angel of Hope Foundation. Some of the material is still coming and we are very grateful.
“There are sanitizers for hand washing and spraying buses and streets in town, medical gowns, masks, and gloves some of which we have already given to the police,”
The church is continuing with its effort to support fight the COVID-19 in countries like China, Sudan, Mongolia, United States, and other countries.
