A Latter-day saint father forgives the killers of his son who was killed outside church premises

One would wonder how it is like to forgive someone who has taken the life of a dear one. Often, people will say it is impossible to forgive or to forget, however, such an act has been manifested by a father whose 15-year-old son was killed.

Solomone Taufeulungaki was killed outside the church premises. His father has chosen to forgive those who took the life of his precious son. Some will say it is not possible, but His action is in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Savior Himself forgave those who crucified Him without a just cause.

Young Solomone Taufeulungaki was loved by his family and friends. His father feels that his son’s spirit will join them in church when ever they are there. He said, “I believe that may be every Sunday his spirit will join with us in this true church every Sunday.”

Friends and family gathered together to remember their dear friend who has been taken away from them by death.

Our purpose for reporting this story is to help everyone know that we can follow the Savior even in the most difficult time of our lives.

Your forgiveness of a murderer does not erase his guilt, or absolve him from punishment.

Enjoy your Sundays with Solo before Heavenly Father has him too busy getting other family members together beyond the veil where he will no doubt get to serve his mission. Our very sincere sympathies to your lovely family; it is not easy to learn to live without a loved one, even if it isn’t a forever loss. x x x x
